1997 was the seventh and final year of the second-generation Town Car before designers moved the flagship full-size sedan away from the classic angular exterior design seen in this example to a more rounded figure. Furthermore, the demise of Cadillac's rear-drive platform in 1996 put the Town Car in its own league as the final 'traditional' American luxury car on the market. The original 'Silver Frost Metallic' paint is a classy statement on its own and appears to be in impeccable condition. This 1997 model features Ford's renowned 4. 6l Modular V8: a reliable and quiet engine that delivers surprisingly good economy for an 8 cylinder, helping the Town Car to escape the 'Gas Guzzler' tax when new. A 4-speed 4R70W column shift operated automatic transmission turns the rear wheels and it's so smooth that you'll hardly notice the gear changes.
