Wow! This one really makes heads turn. Ford's Thunderbird started out as an American imitation of European sporty styling but by the 1960's luxury-loaded, Jet Age inspired T-Birds like this one hit showroom floors. 1966 models can be distinguished by the refreshed 'egg crate' grille and connected rear taillights. We might as well start with the most desirable component on this Candy Apple Red 1966 Ford; the 428 CID V8 with 4bbl carburetor under the hood that was an option for that year and provided around 345hp from the factory. This vehicle was fully restored in 1998 incorporating the numbers matching engine and 3-speed automatic transmission (according to the seller), and it shows! The interior on this Thunderbird is a fantastic feat of automotive design. Red vinyl seating for five is comfortable and stylish. The swing-away steering column allows for easy entrance and exit from the vehicle, and the ribbon-type horizontal speedometer is very unique. Round gauges for fuel level, water temperature, oil pressure and voltage keep you informed and there's plenty of entertainment to choose from with the 8-Track player/radio.
