In many ways Pontiac was just beginning to go through a renaissance when the plug was pulled and GM shuttered Pontiac's doors. A great example of this is the Pontiac Kappa platform. The Solstice was originally a design exercise authorized by Bob Lutz to generate excitement and show Pontiac was heading in a new direction. To GM's surprise the car proved so popular that - like the 1952 Corvette - GM decided to put one into production. GM developed a brand-new bespoke hydro-formed chassis, and it was shared with the Saturn Sky to help recoup cost.
This black-on-black Solstice GXP coupe is very special. It is one of only 1266 Solstice GXP Coupes ever built and has been well maintained! Can you say RARE! Never mind the exclusivity of this car, but it's a low mileage example as well, turning only 41,000+ miles since leaving the factory. Being a GXP, the car was ordered with the 260hp Ecotec 4 and is mated to the original 5-speed automatic transmission.
