Along with the Pontiac Firebird, the Camaro and Mustang comprised a new, informal automotive classification: pony cars. The fourth-generation Camaro, which debuted in 1993, kept the same basic blueprint intact. The 1995 Z28 model was powered by the much-hyped LT1 V-8, which had originally appeared in the 1992 Corvette.
