If you like Volkswagens like we do, you will certainly love this one. These Type 3 Fastbacks aren't exactly easy to find and in this shape they are quite rare. Clearly a ton of time and money has went into this build and the final result is this masterpiece we have here. The car is finished in a fitting green with black and gold accents and has hints of rally inspired design aesthetics. This Fastback was built to be driven and enjoyed and it will have you grinning ear to ear when you're behind the wheel. It has all the right go fast parts with plenty of parts to ensure it handles the corners as well. This build was started in 2016 and completed in 2018. During this frame off restoration, every panel was sand blasted, fully bodyworked, and painted. The 1950-59 generation of Beetle is up on the top of the list for the air cooled enthusiast. While retaining plenty of the charm of the earlier models but also nice upgrades like a single piece oval rear window, updated instrument panel and some mechanical improvements, the Beetle of the 50s is highly revered in VW circles. This 54 example is quite charming in it's two tone paint job and white wall tires. As you walk around the vehicle you'll notice nice details like the bumper mounted fog lamp, windshield visor and wood luggage rack. The restoration on this vehicle was completed using mostly all original parts that were refurbished to like new condition. To take a 57 year old car and still be able to retain, repair and refurbish nearly everything is impressive all on it's own, it's the pure simplicity of the OEM appearance that makes this car so special. Powering this gem is the 1600cc Dual Port flat four mated to the Arizona Transaxle Exchange Freeway Flyer 4 speed manual transmission fitted with 3:88 ratio ring and pinion, super differential with a heavy duty side plate. In the mid-50s Volkswagen was looking to make a statement with a new car. Initially called the Type 14 it would take the chassis and mechanicals from the Type 1 Beetle and the body would be styled by Carrozzeria Ghia and built by Karmann. Over the course of nearly 20 years production would pump out nearly half a million Ghias in Germany. Here we have a '73 model and wow she is sharp! This car has an incredible build, more on that shortly. The green paint looks very sharp. Its not bright or dark, more of a teal green. The tan colored soft top goes well with the color, looks in good shape, and operates manually with ease. Inside you will find a tan vinyl interior to match the top and is in great shape. Powering this car is stated to be a 2180cc GEX 4-cylinder engine mated to a 4-speed manual transmission with a reverse lockout shifter. The engine is stated to be complete new, <3,000 miles on it.
