The PV 445 or Duet was produced by Volvo with the intent to be used as a delivery vehicle during the week and a comfortable sleek sedan on the weekends. Although the styling was based on the 444/544 sedan which were unibody design the Duet was a full frame vehicle. This example was built with a Hotrod approach with the looks of a 57 Volvo but the heart of a powerful V8. The two-tone paint is slick and gives the car a custom look without going over the top. The chromed luggage rack on top goes well with the overall theme. The custom wheels are a nice touch while hinting towards whats under the hood. Naturally a V8 is what this thing needed but you can just put a small block American motor in this thing. Having that said a Range Rover engine was sourced and built using some aftermarket parts. The end product is a rather powerful European V8. The transmission choice was obvious with the 4l60 being a readily available OD transmission that mates up to the engine with very little fab work.
