The chain of stories passed from owner to owner says the restoration on this 1940 Mercury Eight finished up sometime in 2012 and has seen a little over 2,000 miles since being completed. The write up and paperwork passed along indicated a professional rebuild on the flathead from top to bottom including a '3/4 race camshaft,' Mallory dual-point ignition, modern style ball-bearing water pump, and ceramic coated headers exiting through dual exhausts. The sound is superb!
The high-quality paint job is about a decade old and one would not believe it upon close inspection. There are no major flaws noticed.
