On the outside of the 45th Anniversary edition Camaro, Chevrolet added custom 20-inch wheels; Carbon Flash Metallic exterior paint, fog light, and taillamp bezels finished in dark silver; standard rear spoiler, RS styled taillight lenses; unique hood, body-color roof molding; HID headlights, 45th Anniversary emblems on the side, and a unique red and charcoal rally stripe on the hood.
On a cloudy day or in a covered parking garage, the Carbon Flash Metallic paint could easily be mistaken for plain black, but the sparkle of direct sunlight definitely reveals its depth. The subtle difference in the wheel design gives a hint of refinement to this design. The proprietary anniversary rally-style stripes are a dead giveaway as to the nature of this special edition Camaro. Moving to the interior, the red and blue stitching on the seats and shifter gives further distinction to the particular package. The most attractive part of the package is the leather-covered dash, which has a clean white trim with the 45th Anniversary logo.
The interior of the new 2012 Camaro receives a revised instrument panel and steering wheel. We praise Chevrolet for axing the deep-dish steering wheel from the 2010 to 2011 model Camaro. The new steering wheel is a good design borrowed from other GM vehicles, with some added padding in the right spot for more of a sports car feel. Unique to the 45th Anniversary edition Camaro on the inside are sports seats embroidered with a 45th Anniversary logo in addition to 45th emblems placed on the passenger side dash and steering wheel. General Motors' heads-up display, part of the 45th Anniversary's 2SS trimmed options list, provides a customizable green readout on the windshield, allowing the driver to keep their eyes on the road.
