The 1968 Volkswagen Beetle, also known as the VW Bug, was a compact car produced by Volkswagen from 1938 to 2003. The Beetle featured a distinctive rounded shape and rear-mounted air-cooled engine. The model in red with a black interior was a popular color combination for the Beetle in 1968. This Beetle features a 1600CC horizontally opposed four-cylinder engine that produced 40 horsepower when new but has been upgraded to produce more power today. It is paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The Beetle had a simple, yet functional interior with black vinyl upholstery, a two-spoke steering wheel, and basic gauges. The car was known for its reliability, fuel efficiency, and affordability, and it was a popular choice among young buyers and families. The 1968 Beetle had a curb weight of around 1,965 lbs, and it has a top speed of around 80 mph.
