The fourth generation DeVille got a complete redesign in 1971 and set a record for interior width and held that title until the early 90s! In November 1971, a showroom-stock 1971 Coupe de Ville placed third in the annual coast-to-coast Cannonball Run, posting the highest average speed of the event, 84.6 mph (excluding stops) and averaging 8.9 mpg. Impressive nonetheless considering some of it's sportier competition. Finished in St. Tropez Blue Firemist Metallic exterior paint with a white vinyl top and accented by an elegant dark blue interior this combo screams "classic". This one owner car has averaged a mere 1740 miles per year since new with the owner claiming the odometer reading of 85280 to be actual. Power comes by way of a carbureted 7.7 liter 472 cubic inch V8 producing 220 hp and 365 ft lbs of torque. This was a decrease in horsepower and torque since it's inception in 1968 due to GM making the necessary changes to have all of their engines run on unleaded fuel. This cruiser is still spry enough to get you to highway speeds in 10.7 seconds.
