Gateway Classic Cars of Charlotte is proud to digitally present this 1977 Jeep CJ5.
Widely regarded as "America's workhorse," the CJs have been described as "probably the most successful utility vehicle ever made." The CJ, or Civilian Jeep, has been tearing up the trails from 1945 to 1986, making it the staple of off-road capability. This CJ is no exception and raises the bar sky high!
This Jeep has undergone a thorough, no-bolt untouched restoration. The power comes from a 355ci Chevy V8 with Edelbrock Street aluminum cylinder heads that spin the Eagle balanced crankshaft. MagnaFlow exhaust ensures you hear every bit of that power. The 3-speed manual transmission (T150) and transfer case have been rebuilt and are responsible for delivering all that muscle to rebuilt axles, a Dana 30 up front, and a one-piece Truetrac positraction in the back. 3.73:1 gears turn the meaty 285/70R17 BF Goodrich T/A KO2 tires attached to the WARN hubs tucked under the tasteful steel fender flares.
The beautiful Porsche Rubinrot (Ruby Red) body is kept right where you want it to be thanks to 2.5" lift, BDS Fox 2.0 Shocks, and Antirock Off Road sway bar. You will be held exactly where you want to be, sitting in custom racing seats and enjoying the air conditioning. Finally, when it's time to stop this beast, you'll appreciate the vacuum-boosted Ruff Stuff disc brakes on all four corners.
The list of upgrades goes on, Street Fire ignition system, polished carburetor with electric choke, aluminum engine pulley system, aluminum radiator with electric fan, Optima battery, Painless wiring harness, LED taillights, upgraded sound system, complete vinyl top, and much more. Hit the road or the trails with this Jeep before it's gone!
