Westfalia would take a standard Volkswagen Type 2 and turn it into a completely furnished, extremely capable, well put together camping vehicle. Complete with running water, ports for electricity, an icebox, and enough room for 4 grown adults to sleep, there isn’t much else that you need to take with you. Powered by a large, yet economical 2.3 liter air-cooled engine mated to a 4-speed manual transmission, this capable camper is sure to keep fuel stops to a minimum.
Virtually every component of this bus has been restored, upgraded, or refurbished. The seats have all been reupholstered in a period correct plaid cloth. The engine has been replaced with a recently rebuilt unit to factory specifications, as well as the transmission to make driving this bus a pleasure, rather than a pain. The optional “add a room†side tent gives you much more room to stretch out and stay away from the rain, or even just the bugs! All the brakes have been recently serviced and function better than new. The camper top pops up with ease and zippered windows let a fresh breeze in as you enjoy the great outdoors.
