Wire Wheels1971 Triumph TR6 for sale in Chicago Illinois. This TR6 is painted in British Racing Green with a Black top with reflective stripe, Black vinyl interior, full factory gauges, and wire wheels wrapped in Red line bias ply tires. Options include AM/FM radio, manual convertible top, seat belt, vinyl interior, and wire wheels. Interior all new other than the seats. The top is NEW and it has the reflective stripe. The car was stripped to bare metal and repainted 3900 miles ago. Same owner since 1985 and always garage kept! The 2,498 CC inline 6 cylinder and 4 speed manual transmission have been rebuilt 24,000 miles ago. Other new parts include top, paint, and interior other than seats. The Triumph TR6 replaced the TR5 in 1969 and boasted a 104 horsepower engine. The TR5 and TR4 were nearly identical twins, but the TR6 broke the mold with sharper lines. The front and back had a more chopped look, giving it a more aggressive appearance and finally shedding the TR series from its early postwar rounded design. The TR6 wasn't going to snap any heads back out of the gate, but it performed a respectable 8.20 seconds from a standstill to 60 mph. It could reach the quarter-mile mark at 16.3 seconds and a top speed at 119 mph.
