Under the hood the 350 CID V8 is built up with an Edelbrock intake, Holley 4 barrel carburetor, aluminum radiator and fan shroud, chrome alternator, electric fan and dual exhaust gives it a healthy rumble! Options include AM/FM/Cassette, automatic convertible top, hub caps, wide white wall Coker tires, full gauge set, and fender skirts. The original radio is in the trunk and it has been replaced with a cassette deck in the dash. Styling took a more conservative approach, with "jet smooth" lines, evident with the aircraft inspired side trim. Chevrolet changed much of the bodylines from the more wilder '59's. The new look for 1960 suited the glamorous top of the line Impala, as Chevrolet reshaped and separated the "bat wing" tail fins, and added 3 round tailamps to the rear. Additional features included a short molding strip extending back from the headlights, twin pairs of bar molding above and below the fender strip, the quarter panel missile ornaments had 2 moldings streaking rearward, and the area between them was filled with a white insert and Impala script. The 1960 Chevrolet Impala also became the best-selling automobile in the US, and continued to hold that position for the next decade. Luxury leader of the low price field for 1960s standards, you could choose from four new Impalas – Sport Sedan, Sport Coupe, 4-Door Sedan and Convertible. Total Model production for the Chevy Impala in 1960 was around 511,925 produced. Of that 79,903 consisted of Convertibles.
