Gateway Classic Cars of Chicago is stoked to present this stunning 1972 Chevrolet Camaro SS. The Camaro has been a fan favorite ever since the car debuted in late 1966 for the '67 model year. The Camaro was created to fill a new niche market created by the Ford Mustang, and it was even joked in a press conversance that the word Camaro means a small animal that eats Mustangs. Since the original cars started rolling off the line in the late 1960s, over 5 million Camaros have been built over 6 generations.
Our featured car from 1972 is a true SS car, but with a trick up it's sleeve. Under the hood you will find an earth pounding 454 cubic inch big block engine linked to a TH 400 automatic transmission that is equipped with a 3200 stall torque converter with a 10-bolt 3:42 posi rear end. The car looks wicked in its tuxedo black paint with complementing silver racing stripes and black vinyl interior and the finishing touch are the 15-inch 5-spoke Cragar S/S rims. Other features include AM/FM radio, air conditioning, tilt steering wheel, seat belts, power steering, power brakes, front disc brakes, and raised white letter radial tires. This car just screams drive me!!
Take the wheel in a true piece of American Muscle Car history in this '72 Camaro SS, available through Gateway Classic Cars of Chicago.
