Vinyl InteriorThis 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Clone is for sale in our Chicago showroom. Powered by a colossal 572 CID V8 which pumps out over 650+hp and 650+ft-lbs of torque, backed by a Turbo 400 transmission with Gear Vendors overdrive unit. The Chevelle was completely restored in 2002 and the 572CID V8 was installed in 2008. Factory options include A/C, AM radio, convertible power top, power steering, tilt wheel, seat belts, vinyl and cloth interior, 4.11 gears with posi-traction, and BFG Radial T/A’s with the raised white lettering. Aftermarket modifications include upgraded Wilwood 4 wheel disc brakes with drilled rotors, stainless steel fuel tank, Pro Magnum hydraulic roller lifters and roller rockers, Comp Cams custom hydraulic roller camshaft, 7†ATI Super Damper, Quick Fuel Technology 1050CFM, Edelbrock Super Victor Series intake, MSD Pro billet distributor, MSD E-Core street blaster coil, and MSD super conductor 8.5mm plug wires. Model-year output totaled 49,352 Chevelles and 290,008 Malibus—plus 54,335 station wagons. It\'s interesting to note that both 350 V8 engines, as well as the dual exhaust 402 cid V8 engine, were available without the SS option; only the LS5 454 V8 required the SS option. A single exhaust version of the 402 cid engine existed in 1970 with 330 gross hp and in 1972 with 210 net hp. In 1971 the single exhaust version of the 402 cid engine produced 206 net hp, but only appeared in the full size Chevrolet brochure. Although not appearing in the 1971 Chevelle and Monte Carlo brochures, no doubt it could have been available as a special order.
