For sale in our Chicago showroom is a 1926 Chevrolet Series V Superior Two Door Coach. The Chevy Superior Series, launched in 1923, was targeted to compete with Ford's Model T as an affordable, reliable car for the common man. The Superior series culminated in 1926 with the Series V as Chevy became poised to finally overtake Ford's sales lead. This 1926 Two Door Coach was a mid-priced entry and offered an enclosed cabin for passenger comfort. Equipped with a 171 CID 4 cylinder engine and 3 speed manual transmission, this 2 Door Coach rides on white wall tires mounted on the traditional wooden spoke wheels, which were a no cost option that year. The blue and black paint, which was applied 15 years ago, retains a bright shine and smooth finish. The interior, restored in 1973, shows some age but has held up well. This car runs and rides fine and would be a great attraction at any car show. Whether as an addition to a collection or as a hobby car for the family, this Chevy promises years of antique motoring pleasure to its new owner.
