1975 Chevrolet Caprice

For sale in our Chicago showroom is a nicely cared for, one owner 1975 Chevrolet Caprice Convertible. With declining convertible sales and anticipating that the Federal Government would outlaw convertibles altogether, General Motors cranked out the last of the full-sized drop-tops in the mid-seventies, with 1976 being the final year. This well maintained 1975 Chevy Caprice is one of the last of the breed. This land yacht is guaranteed to turn heads and invoke the envy of passersby as you cruise by on a summer day. Owned by the same family since it was new, this Caprice convertible has been well maintained mechanically and is a mostly original vehicle with less than 77,000 miles. Although it shows some age, this roomy convertible is still in very good shape. The white vinyl interior has worn remarkably well and is without tears or bare spots; the white top, replaced a few years ago, also looks great. The original 400 CID V-8 engine was rebuilt three years ago and the transmission overhauled in 2000. Additional work includes the replacement of brake lines, hoses, belts, and seals last year. Repainted in the 1990s in its original dark blue, the body is straight and shows well for its age. This Caprice rides on newer whitewall radial tires mounted on chrome rims with wire insets. The original wheel covers also come with the car as does the convertible boot. Although it isn't perfect, this '75 Caprice would be a great summer driver with the room to load up the whole family for a weekend cruise. Or it's a perfect vehicle for the hobbyist who wants to do a complete restoration of this '70s classic. Either way, this attractively priced drop top is ready for the right buyer.
