For sale in our Chicago showroom is this numbers matching 1956 Ford Thunderbird! This particular Thunderbird originated in California. The T-Bird was Henry Ford's response to the Chevrolet Corvette. Though it was sleek and sporty, the Thunderbird was not considered a sports car to Ford, but a "personal luxury vehicle." This T-Bird is powered by the legendary 292 Y-block V8, which has been bored 30 over and was rebuilt about 9 years ago. This 1956 Ford Thunderbird features the Ford-o-Matic 2 speed automatic transmission. The transmission was also rebuilt with a shift kit. It has a '57 manifold and carburetor. A new 3 core radiator and new wiring harness in the front section was also installed. The car has a complete new front end which includes upper and lower ball joints, upper and lower control arm bushings, and new front coil springs. The car was bead blasted to get all the paint off. Then all the body work and paint was performed professionally. The interior is beautifully done with new seat foam, and seat covers. No corners were cut in the interior either, as the carpeting and vinyl headliner in the removable hardtop are also new. Other options include a new Holley four-barrel carburetor, electronic choke, new battery, new solenoid, and updated radio with USB port.
