1968 Dodge Dart

For sale in our Chicago showroom is a 1968 Dodge Dart drag car. This beast is ready to roll. The original Dodge Dart is an automobile built by the Dodge division of the Chrysler Corporation from 1960 to 1976 in North America, with production extended to later years in various other markets. The Dart nameplate was resurrected for a Fiat-derived compact car introduced in 2013. the Dart name originally appeared on a 1957 show car featuring a body designed by the Italian coachbuilder Carrozzeria Ghia. The production Dart was introduced as a lower-priced, shorter wheelbase, full-size Dodge in 1960 and 1961, became a mid-size car for 1962, and finally was a compact from 1963 to 1976. The engine in this monster is far from "compact-car." Nestled under the hood is a 528 Hemi crate motor built by All-Pro Performance in the Chicagoland area. Pumping out more than 800 horses, it runs on 114 Octane fuel. The endless list of items that went into the heart and soul of this Dart is documented in the list of receipts. This engine has only 10 quarter mile runs on it. It was safely stored, under a cover in a garage and not raced for 12 years. When this Dart fires up and comes alive, there is no doubt it's done resting in the garage. It has been back-halfed with roll bar. 15 x 33 Goodyears with a narrowed spool rearend is tucked neatly inside the rear fender wells. Pushing all those horses to that rearend is a 727 Torque Flite transmission that was rebuilt to full race specifications, with an 8" Magnum Trans-King Racing 5500 stall speed torque converter. This Dart has not been chopped up or abused in any way. It even has the original dash and seats still installed.
