The second generation Galaxie was manufactured from 1960-1964 and featured smooth lines and an aerodynamic styling that was done specifically for NASCAR. In the 1960’s the United States was hard at work to win the “Space Race†and be the first country on the moon. Along with the excitement came some creative advertising for American automobiles including names like Starliner, Jetstar, Futuramic, Golden Rocket, Starfire and Starchief. Not to be outdone Ford introduced the Galaxie in 1959 and after 2 styling changes and refinements the 1964 Galaxie was unveiled. This 1964 Galaxie XL looks great in powder blue with white bucket seats. The convertible top folds back with the touch of a button for easy summer time cruising. The 390 Cubic Inch V8 produces 265 horsepower and is mated to a 4 speed manual transmission that will get this car up to speed with no trouble. Options on this Galaxie include Power Steering, AM/FM Radio, Power convertible top and whitewall tires.
