For sale in our Chicago showroom is a 1939 Chevrolet Model JC Pickup. This is a very nice and solid example of a classic pickup truck that is ready to cruise around and be put back to work. Chevrolets “Modern Pickup†era began in 1937 with the truck styling mimicking that of an automobile and offered buyers a more attractive vehicle still capable of everything you would expect from a pickup. Originally listing for $572 this truck provided economy and durability without a hefty price tag. Powered by a second generation 216 cubic inch “Stovebolt Six†that replaced the troublesome babbitt bearing motor, this solid truck runs and drives very nice and is sure to turn some heads. This truck starts right up and runs whisper quiet. Standing next to it you can hardly hear it run and the 3-speed floor shift transmission goes through the gears nice and smooth. This truck appears to retain most of its original parts including “dog dish†hub caps, roll out front windshield, under-dash heater and vacuum powered drivers wiper. The engine was rebuilt around 1995 and has been maintained very well and new radial tires (designed to look like bias-ply) were installed 500 miles ago. Dual taillights with brake lights were added and a brand new turn signal kit is included as well. Located in our Chicago showroom this 1939 Chevrolet JC Pickup can be seen including an HD video and pictures at www.gatewayclassiccars.com.
