1956 Packard Clipper

For sale in our Chicago showroom is an eye catching 1956 Packard Clipper Super. This classic Packard is the epitome of 1950's styling with huge chrome bumpers, wide whitewall tires and two tone pastel green paint. The Tahitian Jade and Shannon green paint looks amazing and is sure to turn heads. The Packard Motor Company produced some of the most beautiful and high quality American vehicles and are still coveted by collectors today. At one point in the 1950's these cars were referred to as

"Americas Rolls Royce" and stood out thanks to innovative styling and technology. In advertisements Packard use the phrase "Ask the man who owns one" and actually did have a heavy referral base from the testimony of many satisfied owners. One innovation was a twist torsion-bar suspension that distributed upward force equally to each wheel allowing for a very comfortable driving car.

One thing on this car that you will notice immediately is the Clipper ship steering wheel logo used throughout the vehicle in 17 locations. The interior of this car is also finished in two-tone green and matches the outside very nicely. The dashboard features an engine-turned panel that looks stunning with chrome trimmed gauges and radio. All items on this car are currently working including the AM tube radio and clock. This car is sure to get noticed at any cruise night or car show.

Driving this car is a breeze thanks to power steering and power brakes. The 352 Cubic Inch V8 runs smooth and quiet but will get this land yacht up to speed with no trouble. At 275 horsepower this car has no trouble cruising at highway speeds. The Ultramatic transmission shifts very nice and the recent brakes stop this car very easily. Recent work on this beauty includes almost $4,000 in chrome, new valve cover gaskets, battery, radiator, fuel gauge, gas tank and power steering unit.
