1955 Ford Mainline

For sale in our Chicago showroom is a snow white 1955 Ford Mainline 2-Door. This car has some great originality and has been restored throughout the years with the intent of keeping it original in appearance. The interior is the correct two-tone gray with cloth seating surfaces and light gray vinyl surrounds. The dash is original and had a very interesting design for the time featuring a clear glass speedometer plate that you can see through all the way to the back of the cluster. In addition everything was designed to be round including the clock, radio and Ford Magic Air heating and cooling control. The radio has 2 arrow markers on the dial for emergency information in the event of an enemy attack.

On the exterior of the car you will notice very smooth body panels and the big bright shiny chrome that made these cars iconic. This '55 is finished off with new wide whitewall tires with original and very nice full hubcaps with red medallions. The I-6 insignia on each front fender show how proud Ford was of the 235 Cubic inch Inline 6-cylinder that starts up and runs fantastic. This car is remarkably quiet as well and gets up to speed quickly by shifting through the 3-speed manual transmission with the ultra cool column shift. An upgraded Pioneer CD player with rear Pioneer speakers creates a sound unlike anything you would achieve from the original radio. Inside the trunk you will see some additional goodys including a service/shop manual, car cover, electrical diagrams and the original owners manual. The spare tire appears to be the bias-ply original and is very well preserved. If you are looking for a fun driver that is very easy to work on and inexpensive to repair this is the car for you!
