2013 Chevrolet Camaro

For sale in our Chicago showroom is this beastly 2013 Camaro ZL1. The Camaro has always been a staple in the muscle-car movement, and this example is no exception. The ZL1 is a throwback to the start of the muscle car era. In 1969 Chevrolet made a ZL1 which had an all aluminum 5.7l V8 engine producing a rated 325 horsepower. With a standard modern-day Camaro SS making 426 horsepower, it wouldn’t make sense to put less power in such a meaningful name. The chiefs at Chevrolet decided to up the ante on the ZL1 by dropping the LS9 from a ZR1 corvette under the hood producing a rated 580 horsepower. That didn’t quite shake the world hard enough for the owner of this Camaro, as they opted to have Hennessey, the aftermarket performance mastermind behind some of the fastest modern muscle on the planet, to twist some wrenches on this monster. Hennessey put their HPE700 package on this Camaro which makes, you guessed it, 707 horsepower. All of that power is put into an automatic transmission, which can be manually shifted via paddle shifters located on the steering wheel.

The exterior has very subtle touches done to let you know that this isn’t just any Camaro. It has slightly wider wheels, bigger brakes, and a unique front air splitter. The interior has all the amenities that one would expect from a modern muscle; a very capable radio, Bluetooth connection, power convertible top, and very comfortable race-inspired seats. You could drive this to the track, throw it around corners all day, run the ¼ mile in an astonishing 11.3 seconds at a mind boggling 126 mph, then drive home with not a worry in the world.

All the heritage of this vehicle is hard to ignore. The Camaro in itself is one of the most recognizable names out there, “ZL1” has been striking fear into the hearts of Dodge and Ford racers since the late 60s, and Hennessey has been making other racers shake in their boots since the early 90s.
