The M-1009 is a Commercial Utility Cargo Vehicle (CUCV) military modified Chevrolet/General Motors Model K5 Blazer with a 3/4 ton rating. The M1009 was produced for the U.S. military from 1983 to 1986. The M1009 differs from the civilian Blazer in that it has a HD TH400 transmission, black out driving lights, special switches, additional recovery points, chemical resistant camouflage paint, and a hybrid 12/24 volt system so it can be used to jump-start other military vehicles including planes. This includes 2 alternators and 2 batteries. This M1009 has been well modified with 1 ton axles, lockers, stronger NP241 transfer case, 8" springs, 40" tires, cross-over steering, custom built bumpers and a large capacity winch. This will tackle any extreme trail you need it to!
