383 Stroker Powered 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad
This 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad station wagon was assembled at
GM's Ohio facility and underwent a custom resto-mod refurbishment
during current ownership that included a repaint, replacement of
powertrain and full interior restoration. The body is finished in
maroon and pearl white, and power is provided by a 6.3-liter 383
Blueprint Stroker V8 engine, dyno at 435 hp and- 480ft/lbs. of torque. This
engine is mated to a 700R4 four speed automatic transmission with
Lokar shift kit and electronic selector indicator. Additional modifications
and equipment include Pypes SS Dual exhaust system with ceramic
coated Hedman headers, a Champion designed polished aluminum
radiator, condenser mounted in the 6-cylinder position with high flow
dual fans, four-wheel disc brakes, power steering and 17" / 18" wheels as
well as a custom designed center flow through console from front to
rear, black leather interior, Vintage Air climate control, power windows
and Retro Sound vintage sound system with power amp, custom
designed rear speaker enclosure with Sirius/XM radio. The car was
acquired in 2012 by the current owner and has been driven under 100
miles since completion of build. This modified Nomad is now offered
with a clean Colorado title.
Features include a wrap-around windshield, "Nomad" badging, side
mirrors, sliding rear windows, a two-piece tailgate restored and fitted
by Mad Mooks which includes Bullitt aluminum hinges and hydraulic
lifts, and twin tail fins with concealed fuel filler tube under the left
taillight assembly
Polished 17" /18" chrome wheels are fitted with Sumimoto tires. Braking
is provided by front disc brakes, and the vehicle is equipped with ldidit
Chrome tilt steering column with a Chevrolet designed LeCarra steering
wheel and CPP power steering system
The cabin features adjustable front bucket seats and matching rear black
bucket seats. The custom flow thru center console houses a Retro Sound
vintage sound system with power amp, custom designed rear speaker
enclosure with Sirius/XM radio, lighted cup holders with console
mounted power outlets. Further additions include Classic Instrument Bel
Era 111-gauge package and tachometer, ldidit chrome tilt steering
system, a Vintage Air conditioning system and power operated windows
The Bel ERA ll Classic instruments are housed within the factory opening
and the six-digit odometer indicates less than 25 miles have been added
since completion of the build
The Blueprint Engines 383 Stroker engine features a cold-air intake, with
significant chrome accents including a dual action Right Way chrome
master cylinder, with ceramic coated Hedman headers connected to the
Pypes SS dual exhaust system.
This car sits on a powder coated frame with inbound spring supports for
additional tire clearance and after-market rear shock supports. A Moser
built 9" Ford posi rear end with 350 gears, Moser axles, big Ford housing
ends, Chevy perches and rear end powered coated at Moser and
included their complete rear disc brake system.
Additional features include Retro Sound Bluetooth system with
microphone and USB outlet in the console. Interior has extensive
