For sale in our Denver showroom is a fine example of a classic American muscle car, a 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger. This two owner, Tor Red Mopar has a black bumble bee stripe and black vinyl top that really brings you back to classic styling of the late 60s and early 70s. The Dodge Dart was first introduced in 1960 as the "smallest full sized" Dodge. In 70, the "Swinger" name was applied to all the Dart two-door hardtops except in the high-line custom series. A number of other changes were made to the Dart line to avoid internal competition with Dodge's new Challenger. The performance model in the Dart line for 1970 was the Swinger 340 2-door hardtop. The 1970 Swinger 340 came with functional hood scoops with 340 emblems. Standard equipment included front disc brakes, heavy duty "Rallye" suspension, a 3.23:1 rear axle ratio (now a 3.55:1), fiberglass-belted bias-ply tires mounted to 14" × 5½" steel wheels, and a bumble bee stripe. Originally a 318 V8, now under the dual snorkel hood sits a powerful 360 CID V8 backed by a 727 TorqueFlite automatic transmission. The 360 exhales from TTI headers into customer exhaust which is sure to turn heads. Options include: AM/FM/CD radio, power front disc brakes, power steering, seat belts, raised white letter radial tires, and rally wheels. If you are looking for a great classic car to enjoy without the timely and costly headache of a restoration, look no further.
