Under the hood sits a 348 CID V8 with a tri-power setup and finned Offenhauser valve covers. The stamping on the engine ends in G which comes back to a 348 -250 horsepower with a single 4 barrel, so it appears the tri-power is an add on. Options include AM radio, cloth and vinyl interior, continental kit, wire hub caps, bias ply white wall tires, and power steering. These 58 Impalas are nothing if not classy! Dual fender mounted mirrors, dual antennas, fender skirts, white wall tires, Impala script, insignia and crossed flag emblems on the front of the hood, ribbed body sill panels, large chrome air scoops ahead of rear wheels on the fenders, a competition style deep two spoke steering wheel with Impala medallions, and Impala script on the dash. It also had six taillights giving it a distinct look over all other Chevrolets. Impala was the top of the line in Chevrolets fleet and started out as a package on the Bel Air. 1958 was the first year for the Impala and these cruisers are getting tough to find, and even tougher to afford!
