For sale in our Detroit showroom is this beautifully-restored 1946 Chevy 3100 half-ton pickup. Bearing a similar resemblance to the 1941 Chevrolet Advance Design, but with a few years in between to refine the platform to give the public a better truck, the 1946 pickup was among the first of the postwar trucks to hit the streets. The lucky recipient of a detailed 6-year restoration with no expense-spared, this Chevy is a blast to drive, and will turn heads wherever you take it! The stunning bodylines are coated in a nice shade of tan, and the red on the fenders and running boards are a nice touch. The body remains all-steel, as all of the rust was cut out and new sheetmetal was fabricated to make it look just as nice as it did the day it rolled off the line! One of the coolest additions is the oak bed, separated by polished stainless steel trim that will surely make you the center of attention at shows. Underneath, the truck looks just as nice as the topside, with a Mustang II front end with front disc brakes, in addition to stainless steel upper and lower wishbones. Out back is a GM Positraction rear end with power-assist drums brakes and 3.42 gears. When you open either side of the butterfly hood, you’ll see a clean 250 cubic-inch inline-6, topped with dual carburetors on an aluminum Offenhauser intake manifold, so you’ll definitely want to prop the hood open at shows with this truck! The engine breathes through cast iron headers and 2-1/2 inch stainless steel dual exhaust, producing a nice sound when you step on the gas. Inside the cab, you sit on a comfortable red cloth bench seat that matches the fenders, and monitor critical engine functions with a set of Dolphin gauges. Options on this head-turning truck include: AM/FM radio with CD player, hub caps, power brakes, cloth interior, and radial tires. If you’re looking for a vintage truck to present at shows, or cruise around in on a nice day, then look no further! Located in our Detroit showroom, this 1946 Chevrolet 3100 can be viewed in greater detail, including HD photos and video, at www.GatewayClassicCars.com, or call (313)-982-3100 for more information.
