This highly-optioned Chevy has slowly appreciated over the years, and is now a collectible and sought-after muscle car that would look great in any collection.The Monte Carlo was an American-made two-door coupe first introduced in 1970, and manufactured over six generations until 2007. It was marketed as a personal-luxury coupe through most of its history, with the last model version being classified as a full-sized coupe. When it was discontinued in 2007, it had outlived many competitors that were either discontinued many years earlier or changed in concept to either a four-door sedan or small sport coupe. Rather than a 350, this Monte Carlo has the high-output and numbers-matching 402 cubic-inch V8 under the hood, making it an especially rare and desirable car. An automatic transmission handles shifting duties, and the power hits the ground through a durable 12-bolt rear end. The exterior sheetmetal is coated in the same Cortez Silver that was sprayed on this Chevy forty five years ago, and has aged rather well. If the interior looks brand new, that's because it is. The current owner acquired the car without an interior, and installed all new seat covers, carpet, and headliner, among other things.
