For sale in our Detroit showroom is this beautifully restored 1967 Ford Galaxie Fastback. The 1967 Galaxie was included in a design upgrade that debuted in 1965 with an all new design that featured a taller and bulkier body with stacked headlights. The upgrades also included a redesigned suspension which replaced the former leaf-spring rear suspension with a new three-link system including coil springs adding to the cars performance and handling. For 1967 all Fords featured a large, padded hub in the center of the steering wheel along with an energy absorbing steering column, padded interior surfaces, recessed controls on the instrument panel, and front outboard shoulder belt anchors. Another safety upgrade was the introduction of the dual brake master cylinder used on all Galaxies. The factory upgrades are not all that is included on this 1967 Galaxie, as the car underwent a full restoration in 2008 and logging only around 7,500 miles since its completion. This Galaxie fastback has the power-full 390 cubic inch Ford motor that has been with this vehicle since the day it was born. Backing the power plant is the original C-6 automatic transmission, and a 9” Ford rear end to finish off the power transfer to the upgraded rear wheels. This Galaxie definitely has the power to get up and go and also is a showpiece with its new burgundy colored finish that has an incredible shine, and the near perfect jet black cloth interior that looks as good as the day that it left the showroom floor.
