The Galaxie was included in a design upgrade that debuted in 1965 with an all new design that featured a taller body and stacked headlights. The upgrades also included a redesigned suspension replaced the former leaf-spring rear suspension with a three-link system including coil springs adding to the cars performance and handling. Other features, a new upgraded instrument panel and the introduction of the 2 key system. The factory upgrades are not all that is included on this 1966 Galaxie, as the car has had a significant restoration throughout. Logging only 625 miles since its completion. This Galaxie convertible has a power-full 351 Windsor motor, enhanced with a roller cam- lifters and rockers. Completely rebuilt with a Summit Racing short block. Complementing the new mill, a full aluminum radiator, with an electric fan to keep everything cool and under control while you enjoy all the attention at your favorite cruise. An amazing sounding engine, through the tuned full duel exhausts system (X-pipe), new in 2016. Backing the power plant is a modern Ford AOD (Over Drive) automatic transmission for easy, low RPM freeway cruising. The Ford 9” rear end, rebuilt with 3:73 gears/bearings, finishing off the power transfer to the 500 Magnum rear wheels. This Galaxie definitely has the power to get up and go and also is a showpiece with its bright red colored finish that has an incredible shine, a head turner wherever you go! The restored red vinyl interior looks as good as the day that it left the showroom floor, included dynomate sound proofing under the new carpet, to keep things quiet and cool. The new professionally installed convertible top functions flawlessly. This Galaxie is a great handling car, complimented by upgraded PST front and rear sway bars and KYB gas charged shock absorbers. She handles like a breeze! Power steering and upgraded front disc brakes, helps her stop on a dime safe and secure. Suspension components rebuilt includes bushings, tie rod ends, and ball joints. To enhance the handling, 427 spec front coil springs, along with variable rate rear coils, makes for a firm handling, yet balanced ride.
