1957 Chevrolet Apache

For sale in our Dallas/Fort Worth showroom is a sweet 1957 Chevrolet Apache Big Window. Most street rod style trucks are built for show, but rarely ever the go. Well, this truck will gladly do both. The show part of a Big Window is pretty obvious. The PPG Bismark Blue paint is a very unique color that contrasts well with the chrome around the truck, as well as the Centerline Wheels. The wood and stainless steel bed are perfect compliments to this mild custom truck. Inside, there is awesome white leather seats that are best described as a bucket/bench hybrid. They hug nicely, and with the gas tank relocated under the bed they give that extra bit of leg room that is so needed in classic trucks.

All of these things have been the simple show items that can easily been seen. But the best part of this build is that it has the go to back it up. Under the hood is a 450hp 427 CID Big Block Chevy V8. It is equipped with an Edelbrock RPM air gap intake manifold with matching Edelbrock carburetor, long tube headers, a modern serpentine belt system, Accel wires, and a Be Cool aluminum radiator. A TH400 3 speed automatic is more than up to the task of putting the power down, and has a transmission cooler to keep operating temperatures in check when the going gets fast. There is a Ford 9” rear axle packed with 3.50 gears, giving a great compromise between streetability and acceleration. A fully boxed frame, with 4 bar suspension system and coilovers all around keeps things in check on the twisties, and powered disc brakes at all four corners brings everything to an abrupt and safe halt when needed.

Throw in a tilt steering column, Pioneer stereo with Infinity speakers, and cold A/C, and you have a serious road ready truck on your hands.
