SeatbeltsFor sale in our Dallas/Fort Worth showroom is this clean 1994 Ford F-150 Lightning. The chefs at SVT, or Special Vehicles Team, have always been known for cooking up some wild concoctions. Based on the best selling for F-150, the Lightning was baked up to show that performance and functionality could coexist. The Lightning received a tuned version of the 351 CID Fuel Injected Windsor V8 that produced 240hp. The engine was upgraded by Ford with the famous GT 40 heads, hypereutectic pistons, and shorty headers. The E4OD automatic was the choice for transmission, which was hooked up to an aluminum driveshaft spinning 4.10 limited slip gears. There were also many handling improvements made to the Lightning developed by racing legend Jackie Stewart. The thicker frame rails from the F-250 increased chassis rigidity, special front and rear anti-rollbars controlled lateral movement, and special rubber tipped rear leaf springs doubled as ladder traction bars when blasting from stoplight to stoplight. The Lightning also received a drop of 1†in the front, and 2.5†in the rear. The 1994 Lightning kept nearly all of it pulling and hauling abilities, yet was tested to pull .88 g on skidpad. It is a true multipurpose vehicle. This particular truck has just 21,836 miles on it, extremely low for the age of the truck. This example has maintained almost all of its originality, with the only modification being custom aftermarket one piece side skirts with fender flairs. The drivetrain and suspension is all stock.
