For sale in our Dallas showroom is an incredible 1966 Chevrolet Pickup. This was a complete custom build in a Pro-Touring style. It was professionally painted with a Metallic 2 stage base coat/clear coat system and is as smooth as you will find. The exterior color is Nissan Mocha that was the perfect hue for the build. The interior was professionally designed and fabricated for this build in a light sand color using fabric and leather to create this beautiful and unique interior.
The engine is a professionally built 454 CID V8 with a polished aluminum high-rise intake manifold, polished billet aluminum valve covers, a 750 CFM Holley Double pumper carburetor. The exhaust starts with the Hooker long tube headers and exits out of the custom dual free flowing exhaust. Cooling is handled with an oversized aluminum radiator that is cooled down by a thermostatically controlled electric fan for efficiency. Cooling down 400 hp takes some work, by the way it makes that power on pump gas. The transmission is a built 3 speed automatic with a mild stall and the horsepower is put to the ground via a 12 bolt positraction rear end with a 3.36:1 gear ratio.
The suspension was lowered 4 inches in the front with drop spindles in order to keep the suspension geometry unchanged and 3 inches in the rear with blocks. New springs and shocks were installed front and rear plus Hotchkis front end links and components. The steering was converted to power steering and makes for an easy and comfortable cruise especially when you consider the fact that it has also been converted to power disc brakes in the front and new drums in the rear. The wells are set of staggered 18 inch front and 20 inch rear Coys 5 spoke polished billet wheels.
A special feature is the tailgate which has a custom hinge that opens to the rights side of the bed instead of down. The tailgate has also been smoothed and a set of louvers fabricated into the bed for that custom look. The floor of the bed is rear solid oak that has been stained and brought to a high gloss finish with urethane covering top, bottom, and all edges to avoid water intrusion.
Vintage Air, heat and AC were installed for reliable and great working air conditioning. Audio consists of in dash JVC AM/FM/CD player for modern tunes. This is a truck built for style, reliability, and comfort. You aren’t going to build a truck for this price.
