Vinyl InteriorFor sale in our Dallas showroom is an example of the epitome of 70’s automotive icons. This 1977 Pontiac Firebird is a great one. Highly modified drivetrain but stock interior and exterior with one exception. The Year One 17†aluminum snowflake wheels. So let’s start with the fun stuff. The engine is a Pontiac 455 that has been massaged, punched out, and polished into a fire breathing 474 CID Pontiac V8 Stroker with Eagle forged pistons and rods, a Butler forged steel crankshaft. The camshaft is a Howards hydraulic roller camshaft and there are also Howards lifters and springs. The cylinder heads are Pontiac 7K3 Heads that were ported and polished for maximum flow. The long block is topped off with an Edelbrock intake manifold and MSD ignition system. The exhaust starts with Doug’s ceramic coated headers and exits through custom exhaust. All this has to be backed by a strong transmission, well that is the case here a Bowtie Overdrive’s 2004R 4 speed automatic transmission. And finally the rear end is a Moser 10 bolt with 3.73:1 gears. Handling was not forgotten with a Hotchkis lowering kit and sways bars, Lakewood Traction Bars and 6 leaf rear springs. Finally the body, paint and body was done by Elmos Pontiac in Monett, MO and the Graphics are “Platinum Bandit†for a different take on the “Bandit†Trans Am. This is one of the coolest Firebirds we have come across in a while and is ready to roll.
