This Daytona Migi Replica was commissioned by the then President of Texas A&M's wife, and has been well taken care of, being hand assembled by the Daytona Migi company in Florida. The TD represents the quintessential classic British roadster: small, lightweight body, rear wheel drive, manual transmission, low door sills, and fendered open wheeled styling. It rests on a 68 Volkswagen independent rear suspension with front and rear anti-sway bars. It is powered by a 68 Type 2 VW engine with a single carburetor and a deep sump oil pan. The tub is completely fiberglass, which sits on the steel VW pan. Inside, you are greeted by a full leather interior that is roomier than you would think. If you are ever caught in the rain, there is even a convertible top which comes back down for when the weather clears up. There were a fair amount of actual MG parts used also including the body chrome, bumpers, turn signals, stop lights, and miscellaneous fittings.
