Introduced for the 1956 model year, the MGA represented a complete styling break from MG’s earlier sports cars. This 1959 MG for sale is an excellent representation of a driver quality classic sports car. The white exterior is accented by chrome trim and 1600 badging on the boot and cowl. When approaching the vehicle you immediately see the maroon leather interior. As you slide into the driver’s seat you can easily appreciate the beauty of the wood dash and put a hand on the leather wrapped banjo style steering wheel. Inside you will also find an aftermarket AM-FM-cassette radio that has a hidden power switch under the instrument panel. This ’59 MGA for sale is powered by an 1800 cc four cylinder engine with twin down draft carburetors mated to a four speed manual transmission. The updated engine and transmission came from a later MGB. This upgrade has horse power advantages that are estimated at 95 horsepower verses the original engine with 72 horsepower. In addition on donating the engine and transmission, the MGB also donated the A/C. The owner states that there is a small leak in the system that was detected after it was converted to R134.
