The Custom Catalina two-door hardtop coupe was built on an A-body shell and first introduced in 1953, and in 1954 the Straight Eight Engine received a nine horsepower increase due to carburetor changes, up to 127 hp (95 kW) for the Hydra-Matic. The 1954 was the last of the first generation and by far one of the best.
With a “numbers matching†all original engine and transmission, not much has been touched with this timeless classic. The original front seat upholstery has signs of aging and cracking, as many do after 70+ years, but everything else is in excellent condition. Inside it also a more responsive, and fully adjustable front seat. The engine is cleaned up nice and drives like a dream. In 1997, it received a new coral red paint finish still matching the interior and its winter white accents. To top it off, it rides in style with beautiful wide white wall tires and hub caps.
This Chieftain is amazing and you won’t find a better one for this price. Take it home and let it ride!
