1970 Chevrolet Malibu

Now for sale in our Houston Showroom is this truly classic 1970 Chevrolet Malibu. This car is the epitome of a true survivor car. This car is originally a one owner vehicle which has been inherited by the current owner. The original owner was a good old fashion house wife and only used the car for quick trips to the grocery store and occasionally to the next town over or an occasional vacation. It has been garage kept the past 20-25 years with period driving to keep fluids running through the car.

Powering this piece of American history is the original 350 CID V8 and 3-speed transmission, which has only 98,000 original miles. Over the course of 48 years that equivalates to a little over 2,000 miles PER YEAR! The engine was of course rebuilt as things do tend to wear out of the years and was done roughly 1,000 miles ago by Charlies Automotive back in 2001. Not only was the engine gone through but so was the brake system, fuel pump, hoses, belts, and carburetor. The current owner and inheritor of the vehicle had it fully serviced back in January of 2018 to include the fuel tank dropped and flushed, cooling system flushed, brake system serviced, transmission flushed, new ignition coil, and power steering flushed.

Walking around the exterior you will find the car is still coated in the original gold paint and shows all the history and memories given to the owner. This car needs a new owner to continue the memories for the generations to come and would be a great starter into the classic car world. This car may not be concourse but the ability to remain in such good condition over the course of 48 years is incredible. I know I for one hope to age like this car had in comparison to many others you will find out there.

Moving to the interior you will see it’s as original as they come and in good condition. The seats are gold and gray to flow with the exterior with normal wear and tear through the course of time. Don’t let the stained paneling behind the back seats scare you as it’s only particle board and could be easily replaced. The dash and gauges are all original and in good condition.
