Now for sale in our Houston Showroom is this gorgeous, and likely one-of-a-kind 1961 Ford Thunderbird. Its current owner purchased it from the original owner at Russo and Steele auction in Scottsdale in 2007, and has documentation stating that it had 5490 actual miles at that time. With the odometer currently reading just under 8100 miles, this may be the lowest mileage 1961 Ford Thunderbird available today. This car has won many first place awards, and won Best of Show with a 998 score at the 2003 Hot August Nights event.

It has the highly desirable Honey Beige paint, with a Pearl Beige interior, including its synthetic leather seats. It has every available option that Ford offered on the 1961 model year Thunderbirds, including the factory “Chrome Engine" package. It also has the factory roadster headrest that didn't appear until 1962, and proper Kelsey Hays Wire wheels. This may indeed be the best 1961 Ford Thunderbird convertible available anywhere today.

This T-Bird is ready to start your cruising adventures, with its 390 CID V8 that's backed by a 3-Speed Automatic transmission. It was made to ride in style with comfort in mind. As previously mentioned, the Honey Beige exterior is a rare color, and it is complemented very nicely by its beautiful white power convertible top.

On the interior you will see it has been well cared for, with its Pearl Beige interior still in nearly original condition. It also has the highly-touted “Tilt-a-Way" steering wheel, which Ford equipped the 1961-1963 Ford Thunderbirds with. The Tilt-a-Way wheel would shift about 18" to the right, to add more room to move in and out of the vehicle with ease.  For those days when top-down driving isn't the way to go, or when you just don't want to put the top down, you can take full advantage of this T-Bird's cruising capability, and drive with the A/C or heat on.
