The Ford Thunderbird began life in February 1953 in direct response to Chevrolet's new sports car, the Corvette, which was publicly unveiled in prototype form just a month before. Under rapid development, the Thunderbird went from idea to prototype in about a year, being unveiled to the public at the Detroit Auto Show on February 20, 1954. Like the Corvette, the Thunderbird had a two-seat coupe/convertible layout. “Elegance" is the best single word description of this car personal luxury vehicle. Colonial White colored paint, with the Colonial White hard top, and red interior, and white wall tires, wow is an appropriate reaction for this car. This beautiful T-bird is ready to hit the road with its 312 CID 4BBL that puts out 245HP which has been completely overhauled less than 200 miles ago. Which is paired well with a 3-Speed Manual transmission with Overdrive. The Bore .060 over, replaced crank, ground .02 under, refaced heads, high heat valves, refaced lifters, refaced flywheel, new clutch, and pressure plate. New radiator, extra electric fan, and gauges. Replaced fuel system, carburetor, gas tank, fuel lines, and flue pump. Overhauled front suspension, heavy duty sway bar and heavy-duty sway bar in rear, all new shocks. The Wide White radials also have the original sunburst hubcaps. If you find yourself getting a little hot on your cruise just turn the cold blowing AC on.
