Gateway Classic Cars Houston showroom is excited to offer this nasty Summit White 1981 Chevrolet C10. This bad boy is coming off a thorough rebuild, and with less than 50 miles on the whole thing since the restoration was completed, it's just beginning to get broken in. The engine bay was cleaned up, and plenty of shiny goodies have been added to dress things up under the hood. The polished Wilwood master cylinder, with its correspondingly shiny brake booster, adds some additional eye candy around the Texas Speed bullet. Hedman Husler headers scavenge the exhaust into its custom SLP Loud Mouth Dual Exhaust system, which really delivers a muscular sound. Despite its menacing sound, the word "sleeper" still comes to mind quickly about this truck...that's because most onlookers might guess that it has the usual header-equipped Small Block Chevy V8 under the new cowl hood, but they will be in for a surprise when they pop the hood on this beast. Ready for battle, this C10 is sporting a new 427 CID LS3 Stroker, custom-built for this application by Texas Speed, and reportedly putting out about 660HP. Backing the wicked 427 is a Performa Built Black Label 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission, which is rated to handle 1000HP. The trans has all billet internals, and an FTI Billet 3000 RPM stall converter, so this baby will set you back in the seat when you nail the loud pedal. A set of new 3.71:1 ratio gears fill the newly installed GM 12-bolt rear end, and with PosiTrac, you can be sure this truck will draw a nice set of "elevens" down the street whenever you decide you want to leave everyone at the stop light in your rearview. Its massive aluminum radiator is equipped with twin electric fans, ensuring that the pricey Texas Speed bullet stays well within safe temperatures. This slick '81 C10 is riding on all new suspension components (including rear air shocks); plus, new Weld Racing Aluminum wheels with P255/60R15 radials up front and P295/50R15's out back. Inside the cabin, you'll notice the billet aluminum trim, polished tilt steering column with its billet levers, billet aluminum steering wheel, new Dakota Digital Gauges, HVAC controls for its new Vintage Air A/C, new carpet, new synthetic leather bench seat, new seat belts, new Kenwood Dual DIN head unit (with multi-source capability, including AM/FM/CD/Bluetooth/NAV/Satellite Radio), and Kicker and Focal speakers. What they won't see, but will still appreciate nonetheless, is the sound deadening insulation that has been added. The Kenwood head unit also supports a backup camera, which has conveniently been installed. Drivers will greatly appreciate having that camera to help them maneuver in tight parking situations, where they might otherwise be prone to holding their breath to avoid any damage to the gorgeous Summit White paint, which was applied by Image Paint and Body. As mentioned earlier, this truck has been thorough disassembly restoration. During the build, it received new fenders, new cowl hood, new door, and new half bed. New bumpers, as well as new Billet door handles and mirrors were installed, and the side markers and drip rails were shaved and smoothed. The taillights were Frenched to provide a clean custom look out back. A custom aluminum fuel cell was installed, and the bed received a thin spray in bedliner, too. Tinted windows are all new glass, and keep prying eyes from seeing too much inside, as well as keep the sun's UV rays from doing more damage to the interior than normally happens through untinted glass. Additional features and options on this 1981 Chevrolet C10 for sale consist of Air Conditioning, Aluminum Wheels, AM/FM/CD/NAV/Satellite Radio, Power Brakes, Power Locks, Power Steering, Power Windows, PosiTraction, Radial Tires, Seat Belts, Tilt Steering Column, and Vinyl Interior. Give us a call right away - this beast won't last long!
