Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is excited to offer this gorgeous Marina Blue 1967 Chevrolet Camaro convertible for sale. According to its cowl tag, this '67 Camaro convertible was a little bit of a special build. The "12667" on the cowl tag indicates "Convertible, Custom Interior", and there are definitely a few "custom" features; but more on that later. With "10C" on the tag, it indicates a manufacture date of sometime in the 3rd week of October at the GM plant in Van Nuys, CA. This car comes with a detailed photo history of its restoration, along with pages of parts expenditures that itemize everything that its owner put into it during the restoration. He purchased it from its prior owner in 1979 and enjoyed motoring around in it until about mid-1992, when he took it out of service to take it apart and restore it. After 37 months of money, parts, labor, and love, it was ready to show off to the world in late July 1995. Since then, the restoration has aged very well, given that the car appears to have only been driven a few hundred miles after the restoration was finished. The Marina Blue paint is correct for the "F-1" on the cowl tag (the "F" denotes Marina Blue, and the "1" denotes white convertible top), and it and the white "bumblebee" stripe around the grille have held up nicely, showing very few signs of aging. The white convertible top is also in very good shape. Under the hood is a 210HP (SAE gross) 2BBL Carb-topped 327 CID V8 that was rebuilt during the restoration. Looking at the block stamping pad, it is impossible to tell if this is the engine was the same one that came with the car, as the numbers seem to indicate a warranty or service replacement block. However, based on the odometer readings prior to and after the restoration, the engine likely has about 2000 miles on it. When he purchased the car in 1979, the odometer on the bill of sale read 92,429; and it currently reads just over 94,000. While this is not to indicate that the mileage on the odometer is the true mileage on the car, it wouldn't surprise us if it truly is a sub-100K mile 1967 Camaro that has very few miles on the restoration (even though the restoration is over 20 years old). The 2-speed Automatic (PowerGlide) transmission was also redone during the restoration. Looking at the pages of restoration expenses that we have, it looks like the car was completely redone to be just like it was configured when it left the line in Van Nuys. The bright blue vinyl seating looks almost unused, and the blue carpet is in great condition. The console features a gauge cluster with clock, which is part of the first "6" in the VIN (designating "Custom Interior"). According to the cowl tag, the interior trim codes "732-Z" indicate "Bright Blue, Custom Buckets" for the seating; and the "W" and "2MGSR" correspond with "Tinted Windshield" (for the "W"), with the "M" indicating PowerGlide transmission, the "G" designates "Center Console", the "S" is for "Rear Antenna", and the "R" is for "Rear Seat Speaker". About the only things that weren't put back in "as it was built" condition are the AM/FM/Cassette radio unit, and the rear speakers (which are superior to what it originally had in '67, but in the factory mounting locations). This '67 is riding on a good set of Michelin X radials on the steel rally wheels (with chrome beauty rings), so it definitely rides better than it did when it rolled off the line with its bias ply tires. This is a very nicely restored 1967 Camaro Convertible, and it is ready to be driven by its next loving owner. Call or email our Houston showroom when you're ready to put this in your collection!
