Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is pleased to offer this vintage 1962 Dodge D100 pickup. The D Series truck for sale is a line of pickup trucks sold by the Dodge division of American automaker Chrysler from 1961 to 1980. The D Series shared its AD platform with the Dodge Ramcharger/Plymouth Trailduster twins. Dodge D Series trucks were powered by a humongous array of optional engines during its lifetime, ranging from the 170 CID Slant Six to some serious big block power, buyers had a wide variety of engines to choose from. However, in 1962 the available engines were the 170 and 225 CID Slant Sixes, and a 318 CID V8. This one is equipped with the 225 CID Slant Six, which is backed by a 3-speed manual transmission that shifts smoothly through the gears. One nifty add-on that isn't found often on these vintage rides is the addition of electric air conditioning (not blowing cold at check-in, however). To help keep operating temps under the hood in check, its owner added a high-capacity aluminum radiator and electric-fan-cooled A/C condenser. On the exterior, the blue paint is nicely set off by its white top, and the blue and white interior carries over the exterior theme. The bench seat is done in a nice blue and white motif, and the blue carpet looks good. An AM/FM/MP3 head unit has been installed for the occupants' aural pleasure, but the rest of the interior maintains that 1962 vintage appearance. This D100 is riding on radial tires, instead of the bias ply tires that it originally had, so it's a step up from 1962. If you're looking for a "mostly original" vintage pickup, this would be a nice addition to your collection, or a great start! Call or email our Houston Showroom to make it yours!
