This was the final year for the fiber optics light monitoring system, and the headlight washer system (if a vehicle was so ordered). For the first time, air conditioning was installed on most Corvettes, with nearly 53 percent so ordered. This beauty is powered by a 350 CID V8 with 270 hp and 360 lb-ft torque, and its GM TH400 3-speed automatic transmission gets every bit of that to the rear end. As friend used to say, "this is a car that takes you back to a simpler time"; back when there was little more to do on a Saturday afternoon than to jump behind the wheel of your automobile and cruise the strip waiting for a destination to present itself. Open the door and slip into the driver's seat of this "Little Red Corvette" and you'll get that nostalgic feeling that a vintage Corvette provides. Pop off the T-tops on a warm fall night, and head for the winding roads of the back country with nothing but the stars above you!
