Gateway Classic Cars of Houston is proud to offer this nasty custom 1969 Chevrolet El Camino. This '69 El Camino is powered by a 477 cubic inch big block V8 engine (502CID block de-stroked using a 427 crank) with all kinds of goodies: Energy semi-solid motor mounts, Keith Black 10.5:1 pistons, forged steel crank, Weiand Tunnel Ram high-rise dual quad intake manifold topped by twin Edelbrock 600CFM 4bbl carbs, GM Hi-Perf rectangular port heads with stainless valves, roller rockers, chromoly pushrods, ARP studs, a Comp Cams custom grind camshaft (specs unknown), coated long tube Hedman headers, and fed by a high-volume electric fuel pump. This beast exhausts through a custom 3" dual exhaust setup with Thrush mufflers and turn-downs. Power is transferred through a built GM TH400 3-speed automatic trans with manual valve body, billet hub, and Kevlar clutches. This built Turbo 400 trans is cooled by a beefy external trans cooler, and controlled by a custom Hurst shifter. Aft of the trans is a stout Ford 9-inch rear end housing 3.55:1 gears, which are a great ratio for taking advantage of the 477 in big block's torque without too much low-end wheel-spin, while remaining suitable for long highway cruises without the high-RPM cacophony that a lower gear ratio would cause at freeway speeds. Inside, you'll find a custom stereo installation with a removable face-plated head unit hidden in the glove box, an Ididit custom steering column, a full suite of AutoMeter gauges, and custom racing bucket seats. The interior has also been treated with Dynamat sound deadener to further enhance auditory comfort behind that storming 477. This ride is fitted with low profile radial-wrapped custom 18x8" wheels in front, and 18x9.5" units in back. Couple those with the custom QA1 adjustable coil overs out back, you'll discover superior ride performance and handling improvement over the stock suspension setup. Its power front disk/rear drum brakes provide plenty of "whoa" to this ride, helping bring you back down from warp speed handily. Outside, you'll find that the utility isn't missing from this utility vehicle, since it has a spray-in bed liner to protect the bed when you're hauling your cargo into hyperspace. When you get back to a stop, everyone is sure to notice its gorgeous custom paint job, with an amazing shade of sapphire-like blue on the body panels, contrasted with a gloss black hood. This beast is ready to rock your world, haul your stuff, and win some car shows.
