Now up for sale in our Houston showroom is this super clean & cool 1962 Chevrolet Bel Air. The fifth-generation Bel Air/Impala/Biscayne (built from 1961 through 1964) is easily one of the most sought after among enthusiasts, and while the price of the Impalas continues to command top dollar, the Bel Airs are still a bargain. And the only real difference is two is fewer taillights on the rear of the car and a little less fancy trim on the exterior.

This cool Bel Air was treated to a nice restoration about 6 years ago. The car was professionally repainted in the Almond Beige you see today. The car is completely rust free, the body is straight & true. The trim, bumpers, glass, & emblems are in great shape & show well. The paint is in very nice condition and would be considered a high-end driver’s paint finish. With the stance of the car it really gives the car a cool aggressive look.

Once you get past the exterior and look into the real goodies, you'll find a Jack Gibbs-built 409 CID V8 that is built to be hammered on, a Tremec 5-speed manual, and Hydro Power 4-wheel disc brakes. The Big Block 409 sports full roller rockers, Edelbrock aluminum heads, an 11:1 compression ratio (10:1 Ross pistons), a custom grind Comp cam, Crane roller lifters, Cloyes timing set, Melling oil pump, MSD ignition, Manley pushrods, ARP fasteners throughout, and an aluminum Dual Quad Edelbrock intake manifold with dual Edlebrocks carbs. The owner provided a dyno sheet shows 499.7 HP at 5300 RPM, with torque peaking at 549 lb/ft at 4200 RPM. What's really impressive is that the torque stays over 500 lb/ft from 3500 RPM to just past 5200 RPM, all on 91 octane pump gas with stock jets in the carbs. Helping to keep tabs on the under-hood mayhem is a set of gauges by AutoMeter, and a vintage style Moon tach.

This car isn't all motor, however; with Vintage Air to keep the occupants comfortable as the driver blows the competition away on those hot summer nights' cruises, and a modern AM/FM/CD stereo system to keep the jams pumpin' while you drive to the car meets. Not only do the power 4-wheel discs keep the speed in check when needed, but the Hotchkis suspension (front and rear), with its tubular A-arms up front, help keep this rod between the white lines. This sweet ride also has polished American Racing 5-spoke wheels, new bumpers and grill, new glass all around (except for the backlight), basically all new interior, and only about 1600 miles on the build.

Additional options include Cruise Control, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Tilt Wheel, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior, and BF Goodrich radial tires.
