Ladies and Gentlemen, Gateway Classic Cars in Kansas City is more than pleased to announce a very unique classic, a modified 1966 Chevrolet Corvair Convertible!

Clearly, one of the most distinctive automobiles of the 1960s is Chevrolet's Corvair, a compact model with four-wheel independent suspension and a rear-mounted, horizontally opposed, air-cooled six-cylinder engine for power. The name Corvair was a contraction of Bel Air and Corvette. The name was selected by Ed Cole, who guided the early development of the car. It was appropriate because the Corvair in some forms could be a competent performer; it even appeared in some print advertising with a Corvette. It could be sporty and comfortable and offered seating for five or six, depending on whether you had bucket seats or a bench seat. Furthermore, Chevy's Corvair had good weight distribution, independent suspension, good traction in almost any situation and a relatively quiet ride. Our deep red exterior beauty with tan convertible top, is a very awesome, stock-looking '66 Corvair. Except for the late model Camaro wheels, this Corvair would look like any other mid-sixties Corvair, albeit a very stunning one, going down the road! What really sets this Corvair apart is on the inside! A wonderful performance inspired interior that is meant for business! If speed is your business! Bolstered leather seats to hold you in, plus a floor-shift Muncie four-speed transmission and white-faced gauges to monitor the mechanicals. And speaking of mechanicals, this “Hot Rod" Corvair has had its flat six engine ‘race-prepped' to pump out approximately 300 ponies! This fuel injected beast also features a programmable computer to adjust air and fuel settings for current conditions! In addition to plenty of power, this hot Corvair features a posi trac rear end, plus, powder coated suspension featuring racing shocks and springs to help keep you planted to the racing surface!

This Corvair may be a ‘One of a Kind'! If you are reading this, chances are that someone else in the World is reading this, as well. So, if you like to go fast, quickly dial your cell phone to discuss this unique automotive experience, or many other great classics in our inventory, call your friendly classic car connection at Gateway Classic Cars in Kansas City and we will be happy to provide you with details to help get this dream in your driveway!
